Design is a very underrated aspect of Vtubing. People want to be romantic and say it's all personality, and that they'd love their oshi no matter what. And some of them go further and doxx them and say hey I love them for who they are. But first impressions are important and the first thing you see is the design. It's also the reason why Flare is the only one in Gen 3 not at a million. It's why debut Nene and Polka were bottom of Gen 5. It's why Iyrs will struggle. It's why nobody gave a shit about Hitomi Chris but people still mourn Aloe. It's also one of the reasons Suisei is more popular now than she was as an indie, although yes being part of Hololive is the majority of it. Design matters.
