I've been watching for the first time with Elira and I agree, so much stuff keeps being set up then never payed off or abandoned for a shiny new arc. Like these arcs are quite good on their own but the 180 from Yorknew setting up the Phantom Troupe as main villains to Greed Island/Chimera ant where they and Kurapika have been basically not present is pretty bad. It's like this became a different show when Chimera Ant started and previous plots were just forgotten.
