Myth is an odd case. When they were first revealed everyone braced themselves for some Ironmouse tier garbage. Their debuts were actually good and Moris "Can you Please RIP" even hinted they had some American edge in a good way. They managed to pass the very low bar with flying colors and in the early days even Mori stuck to her character.

Unfortunately as time went on Myth actually morphed into what people were afraid they were in the first place. It started with Moris retarded chat telling her they want the "real" Mori when she started dropping hints she didn't really like the character.

Ultimately Myths success was because they were in the right place at the right time and expectations were so low that their mediocre first month was enough to make people think they were superstars.

The girls love each other more than life. Starting at Sankisei, each generation was always told by cover that they were put into several trial groups, lumped together with other applicants without any ostensible scrutiny for how well they'd fit, and they had to simulate a month of collabs with several technical issues and schedule overlaps. They were also told that one of them were to quit, the whole group would have to be disbanded. In reality, there always ever was one group who underwent this for the purpose of establishing group identity and a sense of UNITY before their debuts.
For Myth, they went two steps further. Firstly, they designed the interview in a way that they would actively filter the group for talents who have a preestablished interest or relationship with each other. Secondly, they told the girls that they were competing for a limited amount of spots during that period. During the entire "trial", not a single one of them ever downplayed the abilities of the other talents, and this was the proof Cover needed that there is not a single better group they could form out of all their applicants, because you cannot create stronger ties that bind in group that already had them without any prior professional relationship.
This is the "one possible timeline" narrative, and you better buy it because it's the one and only timeline you will get.

Sounds very cool, but lag would be a huge problem, and how do you keep score with that? How does the Horserider tell whether they hit without making them stop? Should other people run around and take score? Competitive segments should still be easy enough to tell who does how well?

Not familiar with those, but sure. I think Gura hinted on that. Just keep in mind it has to work with lag, a PvP arena-type gamemode could run into issues here.
