That's a question of whether or not a constant flow of sales is better than sale spikes, and this ain't /biz/ and I ain't an economist, so I'd rather leave that discussion to them. I personally wouldn't shell out $2000 for a single plushie, but I'm more pragmatic and my devotion is to my oshi, not a random craftsman. If I was running a weeb-focused business, I would do it and place it in a cabinet in plain view (hell, I'd probably be a repeat customer).
