IRyS is the only HoloEN vtuber with only one name. All the other HoloEN vtubers have both first and last name. However, when IRyS debuted in the PR announcement of her debut she did have a last name but it was censored with black boxes. There was some speculation on what her last name is after the announcement but it was quickly forgotten as there weren't any leads.

In October last year Cover applied for several Japanese trademarks for talent names. One of these trademark applications, number 2021-131600, was for "鬼灯IRyS". The kanji is pronounced "Hoozuki" and written with kanjis for demon and light fitting her setting. Also, if we look at the IRyS debut PR announcement there are seven black boxes censoring her last name. Letters in the name "Hoozuki"? Also seven.

Her name is Hoozuki IRyS.
