I haven't touched those games in fucking ages because it was my older brother who was into them, but I always felt that FIFA was the realist game that tries to give you the feel of a real football match while PES was more arcadey and had a faster pace as a result. There was also this licensing bullshit war between the two games and FIFA but I believe that's coming to an end next year.

Also, down here in Argentina PES got modded to hell and back so we had like 200 versions of the same game to chose from
