She's not actually doing 'that' badly, in fairness. Civ V is a game with an INSANE amount of mechanics. We were all as bad as her, if not worse, when we were just starting out. The important thing is that she's not repeating her mistakes once she realizes what she did wrong. I'm fine with a bunch of restarts while she finds her sea legs.
