>enlightenment
I agree with that idea, although I didn't elaborate on that when I wrote the splat since it's still rarely touched upon. I changed the wording for our worship so that what our chuubas give us is no longer called enlightenment to reduce the confusion, although they're by no means mutually exclusive.
>human resources
Boiled leather is used as an armour component in the period we're in IRL, so I think it's justified for us to use that. They're light but weak compared with plate armour, so they're often reinforced with metal bands (the famous German spiky helmet is made that way).
Our techniques in hardening and maybe shaping bones can substitute metal to a degree, but I reckon metal will still be needed as noted in the relevant post, not to mention things like weapons that human resources simply won't suffice against most of our potential targets.
>proof of work
I admit I have trouble figuring out how that should be done without some kind of photographic technology. Then again, I think many of the premodern claims of individual war valour boils down to "just trust me bro" anyway, so them being the one to physically drag the victim back to camp should suffice.
>education
For any functional military, once you're above certain ranks you'll have to dabble in things like tactics, even logistics (we still need some degree of that even if we manage to live off our targets), and that pretty much requires some formal education. My question's more that whether the upper-class (regardless of how meritocratic it is) should be purely (or mostly) the clergy, or if there're other kinds of aristocrats around.
>summary
I included the quotes so that people can check the archive for the original context. I see it as both a summary and reference post, so that people who want to learn more about /meat/ can just look at the post and what it links to, instead of scouring dozens of threads to get the whole picture. I also try to compress some of the info to keep the potential collage more readable.
Any suggestions and rewrites are welcomed!

Here. I think the readability thing can be mitigated if we put something clockwise in the middle. Maybe a coiled Xiuhcoatl?

tried to make your story into a singular png since I think it has lots of repost potential
