If you really think about it, all relationships are kind of parasocial, we build a mental construct of what we think someone's like since we can't read minds and it's usually different from reality to some extent. Whether we know each other's real names is kind of a lesser issue if what we feel is real and we've all helped each other through some rough patches. As long as you recognize you can only speak for your own feelings, there's not really anything wrong with it. That term isn't really the boogeyman it used to be.
