The equator isn't anywhere near us, though? Also my main question was about basing a kingdom's operating hours off liver stream times, and how to reflect irl time to in-universe time. This is a matter of longitude rather than latitude, and the /nijien/ empire is not spread out enough across the map for the kingdoms to have drastically different timezones. Are we comfortable basing in-universe time off GMT+10 or so? If we were to do so then for example, given Pomu's typical stream times, the Pomudachi would be early risers and late sleepers, with a small but not unheard of portion of the population regularly remaining up well past midnight. Phantomos would be the opposite, most of the kingdom waking with the setting of the sun, only a scarce few of the population adapting diurnal schedules.

I'm more concerned with religious and cultural aspects than political ones, which seems to be your focus, but given the level of technology most of the world is operating with, this would have political implications too. Diurnal kingdoms would naturally have stronger opinions about other diurnal kingdoms, for good or ill, in comparison to the nocturnal kingdoms who rarely enter their sight. A diplomat from a diurnal kingdom made to stay up deep into late night hours in order to liaison with the leaders of a nocturnal one may be particularly surly due to lack of sleep. Etc.
