It's not exactly "popular retro game", but Ecco the Dolphin is a game that'd be neat to see her play. I think she'd enjoy it, and I have fond memories of playing Ecco Jr. as a kid.

She seemed to enjoy a little bit of LittleWarGame, maybe she can try StarCraft? One of the most popular RTS games ever made, and it has enough Warhammer ripoff going on that she'd probably like the story.

Beyond Good & Evil is also a very neat game and story that I think she'd like, but that stretches my definition of "retro" since it's Xbox (Heug) generation. It's also not too difficult or long.
