Japs definitely restraint a little bit when it comes to foreign streamers. Mori definitely has educated JP viewers to throw money, Gura simply had the numbers, and most Ame JP viewers are probably already accustomed with western stream crude humor. Overall, it's the music that transcends language barrier for anyone to get interested, and simple compliments are easy to type in.
Coincidentally, I'm seeing lots of Apex pro streamers have a sizeable Japanese followers (lyr1c, Shiv, Ace). They don't chat much, and if they do, it'll be in simple English. And they very rarely donate.
But if you check on twitter, they'll definitely tweet out their reactions real time and closely follows their stream schedule, similarly like EN talents. And just like EOPs, they'll wait out for translation clips and comment their impressions over there.
