In broad strokes, I don't think it's too hard to suss out who's a fit for Hololive culture or not both from the perspective of the talent and the people reviewing them. Some hires are misses but that's life. Even after Coco's departure, we still had Nezumori's satire stream and whether the entire script was approved or not, it's clear you don't have to be spotless or utterly sterile. You can make mistakes, you can yab, and across all branches talents have, at their own discretion, berated their viewers. Ultimately, it's up to the talent how they want to control their brand as long as they don't get their corpo in hot water.

All this to say, individual talents should know what they're signing up for. Yeah, you have a boss and they won't approve of every proposal you have. Lots of people in every field deal with that. In exchange, you get arguably the biggest launch pad in your career as an entertainer with the production value and clout to do more than what you were able to do by yourself or in a smaller corpo. It's different kinds and degrees of freedom, no?

Many talents in different corpos in different branches have done erotic content before joining (and some still do). Sometimes it's just a stepping stone. Yeah, your character in the box probably won't get away with doing it, but many talents maintain their outside identities too. If you can't handle not producing content that doesn't fit abstractly into Hololive, see my first two statements.

Peep hotels are nowhere near that expensive.
Especially if you're splitting the cost which you definitely are if you're going on a trip because why would you ever go alone?
Flights also aren't that expensive outside of America. Just drive to Canada and fly from there. Save yourself a grand or so.
I'm planning to go to Japan gor 3-4 weeks at nijifes and if it was 10k+ there's no way that'd be happening.
