Spaces are used for children's books and games. So it's not as though they're not used to it or that it's some novel concept. But they always 'grow out' of it and converge back towards spaceless communication even for zoomers, so it must be that the comfort or convenience of not having spaces for most simply outweighs the supposed difficulty of learning kanji.
