Here is some rule of thumb in CaW:
1. Start with either character with a simple design or one that you like the most.
2. Don’t worry about taking some liberty, as long as other people still see the intent of what that is supposed to be, they will not mind.
3. If the character you are making has a colorful design (Polka) or a very hard-to-replicate dress (IRyS), just don’t bother and either make something else for them or look to see if they have a better design that could be recreated in 2k22.
4. The ‘’Images’’ system is your best friend. With the many plain designs for shirts, jackets, and pants that 2k22 has, you can use those as a base to start creating the Images. And like I said in rule 2, people won’t mind if that ‘’bowtie’’ is just 4 rectangles on top of one another. But still, try and make them look presentable and not like you are just half-assing it.
5. If you are using a pirated game, then you can’t upload your stuff in the community tab. But you still can download other people's stuff (at least I can with my pirated copy of 2k22) so maybe, have one of your friends upload an image or CaWs online and you can download it?
6. Faces. Here are some notable face templates that are used by OP: 1 (Subaru, Coco, Zeta, and Korone); 4 (Alton, Mel); 9 (Luna); 11 (Mio);13 (Okayu);14 (STACK and Aloe); 15 (Battlerface and Towa). Do try and tweak the face’s structure in Facial Region and Facial Structure. Take the most care on the eyes, eyebrows, chin, and jawline.
7. Altho not as important, but eyelashes and eyebrows types are very good to make your CaW look more feminine if you are recreating a girl but use a Male CaW.
8. There are some accessories or outfits that are only available in entrances but there is a way to have them wear those in a match. What you need to do is either copy your outfit over to the second Attire slot or just start creating on the second slot, before you do anything tho, change the Attire Type to ‘’Manager’’. That’s will give you full access to all of the available choices. After you are satisfied, just change the Attire Type back to Superstar.
9. The final advice is actually for Move-set autism but because it’s the second longest time sink in the game, I might as well tell you now. If you don’t want to be dimeless like HoloFighter where all characters use the same combo, grabs, and taunts. I suggest you copy a moveset of pre-existing wrestlers and focused on the Sig, Finishers, and Taunts.
