I guess it is a bit too warm for how people usually dress and stuff, but I'm going to hand wave it as the not!Vamps of the south being cold blooded enough that it somehow works out.
The Northern red zone was more intended as being a hot bed of hostile tribes and stuff rather than the environment itself being an issue (with the mountain providing a buffer).
Something that I read being talked about and which inspired me was that thing about a large 'cold' crater, to which I wanted to add a really deep and intricate cavern system underneath. That, if anywhere, is where chuubanite concentration on the island would be at its highest. But that feels like something like that would veer off from standard geology. Was thinking either somewhere at the foot of the northern side of the ridge, or more centrally in the hostile area.

i hope Axel makes Vesp and Altare in Spore like he said once he's done with Magni...i want an entire set of monstrosities of the Tempus boys
