This might be an autistic geographical anthropology tidbit, but based on how insular island countries like Japan, Great Britain and Madagascar were from their relatively close adjoining continents, I think that'd still be a factor. But I think your proposal has a portion on the mainland, so that'd be good! I like your thought with /tactical/ too. I guess it'll be difficult to engineer the perfect diplomatic contacts on a map where every country is placed by an anon with his own thought process, can't have both /choc/ and /jidf/.
If we went for the Eastern continent proposal, I guess those islands in picrel could work for /fvr/?
In the end, if I wasn't so indecisive about it I would have picked a while ago, so I'd say we go for the one you prefer!
