I'd also suggest setting your preferred video player by editing your streamlinkrc file. On windows it's in: %APPDATA%\Roaming\streamlink\streamlinkrc

There are already lines for few different players, so if your favorite is there, just uncomment the correct line for it. If not, just add a line like this:

player="C:\PATH\TO\PLAYER.EXE"
