No, really, she just hates being a vtuber and makes it a point to rub it into her audience's face

There is no reason for the screen to be that small other than spite for her audience.
Funniest thing is that the JP audience would be spamming the equivalent of "koe ga chiisai desu" but for the screen size in the chat if that happened with a JP girl, forcing them either to fix or to say "it's on purpose, let it go".
