It's not easy in LoL because you have to buy every champion again. Apex is easier since most people only main one character so at most it only costs a few dollars. That's why so many vtubers spam Apex, low barrier to entry.
I mean you could argue they should just stream Dota 2 or some other game that is entirely f2p but those games aren't popular. Viewers gravitate towards skinner box games like LoL where you're incrementally rewarded for grinding thousands of hours because it serves as a secondary progression outside of skill growth for people who are shit at the game.
