If you truly loved pink cat you would cook her a dinner yourself. Going to restaurants as a romantic activity is one of the worst concepts to somehow still exist in the modern era. What is romantic about spending too much money for someone else to make something for your date to enjoy? Anyone can pay for a meal, there nothing romantic about something so accessible and fleeting. Is the romantic part that you get to spend time together? If that were the case you'd be able to get the same experience just by hanging out in the same room. Clearly the food factors into the overall experience somewhat, so why are you outsourcing one of the central elements of the date to some chef in the kitchen you probably can't even see?
If assume you don't intend of proposing a high stakes business deal to your date or unloading some horrific news, why then would you ever want to decrease the amount of fun you can have together by allowing someone else full control over your meal? Is eating the important part? In that case go alone, you can't even talk while eating without being terribly rude. The solution to every issue is to cook the dinner with your date as the date. You can teach them valuable skills, show off some of your own, impress them with the price / value ratio of good home cooking, And you get to talk to them more without resorting to random smalltalk that no one enjoys. You'd be a fool in the modern era to not cook for your date or cook with them, it is nothing but positives in the whole process, while going on a date at a restaurant is more negative space than good.
