You know why? Deadpool is literally the exact same cinematic structure as Spiderman (2002), the movie we just watched, but instead of being made from the heart it's made with a demeanor of ironic detachment.
The "Fourth Wall breaking" that Deadpool pulled in the movie was literally exactly the same as Peter in this movie, talking to the audience at the beginning and end of the movie in a monolouge, but whereas Peter was speaking with earnestness, Deadpool was tongue in cheek. But it didn't innovate; it didn't use the knowledge of being a film to do anything interesting, like using the film itself as a way to fight (like rewinding to avoid attacks or taking advantage of time freezing during a monologue to escape an unwinnable situation), all it did was rely on that idea to deflate the tension and point out bad writing by going

All while actively following the cliche, thinking acknowledgement of bad writing is equivalent to good writing. Deadpool has less awareness of the movie than fucking Saved by the Bell's main character.
