Oh, not only is Azulene used in dyes, it has some properties that make those dyes particularly interesting. For one, azulene is anti-kasha fluorescent. The Kasha-Vavilov rule states that photons emitted through fluorescence come from the molecule's lowest excited state. Azulene not following this means it can be used in interesting applications for fluorescent dyes such as organic LEDs and bioimaging. As a side effect of this property, it also has some uses in photovoltaic panels.
But yes, it can be used to dye clothes. It's an aromatic compound, so it might need to be re-applied once in a while to stay vibrant, but that's not so uncommon for organic dyes.
