Holy fuck that was an epic joke to because haha, Komaru and Popura were both in ZERO Project before getting saved by Aogiri-sama.

And I didn't understand why everyone acted as if it was something yabai.
Thinking about it, it's a reference to Komaru and Popura's connection pre-Aogiri: they were both from ZERO Project. Komaru left in much sooner but they were colleagues there at some point. Of course they don't like that place, given how it turned out.
