I think it's more the fact that /pcg/ is a different general completely compared to 2022. It's not just another smol corpo general like /pkg/ or /tsun/ with a large /here/ ingroup. It's now one of the biggest generals, competing with /nijien/ and even /hlgg/. And just like those 2 mega threads its overrrun with tourist anons who don't give a fuck about 4chan culture, let alone board culture, and are mostly just here to talk about phase connect, its talents, the drama of the day, etc.

Sucks to see but that's just the reality of being a large thread that attracts outsiders in droves. /hlg/ went through the same exact shit once MYTH debuted.
