What you want is something like a "reverse trap" design, though not necessarily to the point it's an actual trap that could trick someone, just so you've got that "cool girl" appeal. The sheer amount of guys who like tomboys and such would be a demonstration to management that something like that could go well, so if you really put yourself out there and convince them you're passionate about being that kind of idol I think they'd eat it up. I've only got about two good images as examples, but they should be good enough to convey the popular kind I'm talking about. As a dude, if I got in I'd probably not want to hang out with the girls for tons of reasons, but if there were one that could banter and chill like one of the guys like some anons described I'd probably be cool with hanging out with them, so you'd be popular with both crowds then.
