I've seen a lot of people harping on about how Kick is evil because it's owned by an online casino and gambling is immoral and addictive and all that, but at the same time those people seem to be sleeping on sports betting, which is magnitudes more prevalent and harmful than regular gambling and also something that Amazon aka Twitch engages in directly. Sports betting literally ravages poorer countries because of the lack of regulation and the veneer of playfulness provided by the association with sports.

I understand why the flesh streamers attacked traditional gambling and not sports betting, because the "bad guys" were on the side of traditional gambling and attacking sports betting would be biting the hand that feeds them, but any VTubers who are getting caught up in the "gambling BAD" rhetoric are just being ignorant. This is all just a shit flinging contest between two groups of e-celebs who hate each other
