>Miku is- she. A lot of people think she is from an anime, she is not. Vocaloid is not an anime. So, what you need to understand is Miku is kind of like an instrument. She is a, like a software synthesizer mean to mimic the human voice. It started out as a something called vocaloid is developed by yamaha, but Miku didn't come into the picture until vocaloid 2. A lot of people think that she's the first vocaloid because of that, but that's not entirely the case. You see the reason that miku is so, usually thought as the first vocaloid is because for whatever reason she really pop off in the internet, specifically the japanese side. She got really popular in NND which is kinda like the japanese youtube. It was really popping back in the day. And then what happened was a lot of people started making various original songs with Miku and some of them really pop off and became part of the site, sort of meme culture. A lot of those can include like Melt, Black Rock Shooter, a lot of them by someone called ryo who later went on to make supercell, who are super famous for doing a bunch of, like jpop stuff. There, uh, a lot of people that actually got their start in vocaloid are now incredibly famous in terms of the mainstream japanese pop culture, what you hear on the billboard top 100.
