Things are coming together for the /lig/ modded Minecraft server. I had to cull a few mods, abandon a few things I wanted to implement, but other than that things seem to be working fine so far. I was also able to fix the game's rampant memory consumption, apparently performance enhancing mods are a much bigger deal on more recent versions due to changes in how the game renders objects

I also abandoned 1.18 and started putting together the mod pack on 1.20.1, almost all of the mods I was using are on this version and they're getting more content and better support for bug fixes. I should have started with 1.20.1, but in the modded Minecraft general there's a stigma against "version chasing" where mod makers will spend all of their time trying to make their mods compatible with the latest version of Minecraft instead of picking a version and making a single, stable, feature complete version of their mod. I figured the newer versions would be more broken

I'm also putting out one last call for anyone who wants to go above and beyond in repping their chuuba by making a custom hat for people to wear on the server. It's a lot simpler than it sounds, and you don't even have to do any of the technical stuff. All you have to do is send me the model and texture files and I'll do the rest. I'd like to get this custom stuff done before I open the server, because adding things after the fact means everyone would have to download the pack again

Posting this again in this timeslot in case anyone else might be interested:

I've been working on setting up a /lig/ modded Minecraft server, and this time around I actually have something to show off: hats! Aside from choosing an oshi tag to go next to your username, you can don a hat to really go above and beyond in repping your chuuba. Right now I have hats for Meat and Coqui with two variants each, and I plan to make a viking hat for Shondophrenics and a hat for Max. I may make a couple more if inspiration strikes, but those are all I plan to make myself. If you want to make sure that there's a hat for your oshi, you'll have to step up and make it yourself.

Don't be discouraged, the process is actually a lot simpler than it sounds. I made these Meathead and Tad hats in my free time after just a couple days while learning the program. There's even a YouTube video I found that does a good job of showing off the basics. And you don't even have to worry about actually implementing it into the game, all you have to do is send me the model and texture files and I'll do the rest
