I will definitely say that part of Gura's appeal to me - and the other Yank EN girls to varying degrees - is simply that it feels nice to see an American girl representing us burgers to a global audience (albeit from behind a facerig) who for ONCE isn't either a) fodder for fat jokes, b) a repulsive masculinized girlboss whore of some kind, and/or c) cynically self-deprecating to the point of genuine blackhearted nihilism
The fact that she consistently gets such warm, positive reception from foreign audiences as a consequence is also a breath of fresh air that warms my heart and restores some of my faith in humanity, and my people in particular. Reminds me that no matter how it seems sometimes, there is still simple goodness left in both us and them after all, and that not EVERYBODY else viscerally hates us (and not in the fun, ribbing way everyfag hates everyfag /here/) due to some combination of envy for the world superpower, disdain for post-war materialism, and actual legitimate grievances suffered at the hands of the CIA or NED or something
In a way, Gura is a reminder that it is still possible for us to restore our honor, both in our own eyes and the eyes of the world.
