I feel like an asshole trying to give artistic advice but if you're gonna draw in a simplistic style it's important to find that thin line on how much detail you still need to include. you need to still be able to tell at a glance who the drawing is of, assuming the viewer knows them in the first place. things like the hairclip or the dual-tone hair go a long way for this.

also, I sort of agree with whoever said color is important, but more in the sense that it helps make things pop out in an otherwise simple drawing. I'm lowkey kinda jealous of kaydn's art style, he accomplishes that better than I ever could with the colored outlines. That said, if you want to do it in black and white that's totally fine but remember that some things will have to be filled in with black that would otherwise be merely a dark color. if you don't think that looks right, remember that you can use hatching (or cross-hatching, if you wanna be fancy) for a similar effect.

also also I really really hope this doesn't come across as a "fixed it for you" thing please don't take it that way
