This website is fucking DOGSHIT for proper discovery, there's even some dude doing shorts that explain how to make your shorts actually get shown to people, and it involves unchecking the box that asks if you want to tell your subs about the video because apparently un-checking that shits it onto the front page with REAL people, and because youtube is showing it to people on the front page (and autoplaying, in the case of mobile) it gets engagement which causes the algorithm to decide that people want this and then it shows it EVEN MORE

Honestly a large chunk of people that'd be interested in vtubers in the first place are in the scene already, and there's not much you can do to court a "normie" audience because they're all SEAbook-tier twitter gremlins that would probably hate Hololive based on whatever weird principles and prejudices they have or simply on a preference for other styles of content
