As much as I have nostalgia for the old Harvest Moon games, Rune Factory shits all over the entire genre. It's so good that it's completely ruined Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons for me, and probably Stardew too, but I never played it since it just looked like a worse much worse Rune Factory. Rune Factory does everything a Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons does (farming + waifus) better, and then is an RPG with a story and combat on top of that. I'm so happy they're making a 5, but I have no idea how they can live up to the bar they've set with 4.
