anyways, to grug's eyes, latent space upscaling really seems to do the absolute fucking worst work of hands, which is a shame, because the rest of the image usually looks the best
TL Note: for even worse hands, enable latent space mirroring using the extension, and use latent space upscaling
PPS: since I mentioned it earlier, Photoshop's "content aware" spot heal can actually draw fingers...with enough grug, and a bit of actually trying to draw them first on your part as well.

it's what I am leaning towards as well. if the latent hands are a shit show AND the before-hi-res-fix hands were good, you could very much get away with doing a "different" pass and then blending the two images together
