I've been to early Miko threads and there was this one guy who was calling anons "yuribaiting" because people implied Miko liked girls. One would later find out that he thought people who called Miko lesbian were "antis". I used to think, like any non-newfag would, that this was just a funposting troll. Now it turns out that, while he had been posting with you guys for so long, none of you have been against him. You were together, together against the "antis". You were genuine. On paper, this just sounds illogical.

One of the defining characteristics of Sakura Miko is her distaste for men in the romantic sense and her endless fetishization of girls. This is obvious even for the most casual clip watchers. Nonetheless, this factor is actively downplayed here. You are trying to bury it here, and to respond the question with a seemingly neutral answer "I don't care" requires an actively pushed bias. That is, your mind has to make up an explanation or try to ignore every time this obvious personality trait is put on display. This is how you can say I don't care where different perceptions and opinions should have such an imbalanced weight and not to be put to equal. Miko herself would want you to defend the character she puts much effort to depict. Yet you are here saying "who cares", like there's some wishful thinking inside you, that she could be with you if she was, unsurprisingly to you, straight.

Do you really like Miko or do you just like your imaginary version of Miko which you want to push on others? One that can love you back? This is the primary reason why people mental gymnastics so hard on these subjects. You are not enjoying her content with your heart if you can't acknowledge her for who she is, or at least who she wants you to see her as. The moment you are telling yourself that her actions and interests don't mean anything at all and her sexuality is still what you want it to be, which is probably in-question at best, you've lost the right to be a fan. I fail to imagine having such a crippled perception of something that is supposed to be thoroughly enjoyable because your love is selfish.
