There is context, Marine was taking care of some of her boss' kids, she was buying them expensive gifts just so they remember her as the sexy onee san, dumb idea yes but that's it. You can say why would anyone buy expensive crap to random kids, but Marine didn't really have much else to do back then, she was tired of her shitty job and was going around life with no goals, these kids lowkey gave her the onii chan she never had and has expressed she always wanted, she didn't really have malicious intentions to harm them nor would have the balls to do so, just a dumb way to approach them and be remembered.
