My mother hates video games and internet culture so it's physically impossible for me to have an oshi that is like her.

I've been watching vtubers since Aloe graduated and I still feel that vtubing is such an absurd hobby. You're just watching people play video games, but they don't even reveal their faces or identities. You're pretending that you're talking to an actual anime girl and even giving her money when you know little about her personal life (assuming she knows OPSEC). It would feel weird to jerk off to a Twitch streamer and weird to donate money to an anime VA, but with vtubers, you're combining two kinds of autism and it's suddenly okay. Imagine trying to explain this shit to someone ten years ago.
