My intent is not to backseat HoloEN, nor am I telling them to min-max their characters.

Believe when I say that I have extensive experience in theorycrafting some extremely busted characters for Hunter: The Vigil 1e, such as shooters with Fighting Style: Combat Marksmanship 5 and Resources 1 discounted M1 Garands who can instantly delete all but the strongest supernatural menaces straight from character creation, rich magnates with Resources 5 and the busted equipment from the Armory and the Armory: Reloaded, or even just characters who carry around bear mace (Spirit Slayers, page 141) and use Dexterity + Athletics to severely debuff and possibly incapacitate many types of enemies at an extremely affordable price.

But I am *not* pushing for this type of min-maxing, no. All I am doing is trying to clear up misunderstandings, and to prevent rules mix-ups. For example, Gura seems to want to be a Dexterity melee character. I am *not* telling her to min-max by taking merits like Fighting Style: Fencing 4 or Fighting Style: (Spetsnaz) Knife Fighting 4, but I am advising that she take dots in Weaponry so that she can actually wield a weapon. Likewise, rather than Vestige from Mummy: The Curse, why not invest in Castigation, which is actually in Hunter: The Vigil?

Similarly, many of the characters have selected Merits from nWoD 2e, which can lead to rules problems when they are playing nWoD 1e. A Merit that relies on 2e mechanics will, at times, do nothing; it simply is not compatible with 1e, so it would be ideal to replace it with a Merit that actually works.
