I dm'd him some advice on how can deal with that stuff but he never saw it lol

So it's possible you're picking up on some sort of loneliness from him?

That said I do feel like he's just speaking on behalf of the viewers in general when he makes comics like these, he could have a choice of using a generic/faceless dude to represent the viewers or his own OC and he went with his OC which makes sense.
