I'm not good at necks either, but I'm working on that. I don't think the way I do is particularly good for studying necks too, because I don't usually do structure other than a circle for the whole head, and for the example I gave it's very minimal, the spine line just goes into the circle (as you can see the red line kind of ends in the middle of the neck). There's some videos from people like hide channel and akihito yoshitomi that might help you better by just looking at how they do things. Shimada's back as an example
