Yes, the story is about how killing for the sake of killing is bad and if it's your first time playing undertale enjoying the story properly and being ethical is the correct way to play it. That said, if you have played it before like Chloe or if you're like me and had basically already knew what Undertale is about due to how much it's fans wouldn't shut up about it, RPing as Reimu Hakurei and doing le epic yokee genocide is the best way to enjoy the gameplay. Heck, most Holos are like this for some reason, Fubuki iirc keeps replaying and streams Undertale's genocide route now and then. I have no idea how they don't get bored of it.
