There's no reason to it. It's just blind hatred, simple as. If somebody popular did something, they would spin the facts based on how they feel about that person.

For example there's this thread where Ame cause a yab >>31421707, but notice how everyone replied with based Ame. If you like someone, doesn't matter if she burned off an orphanage, they'll respond to it positively and warmly and even defend her actions.

But if people hated someone, like how the vocal minority hated Mori, then everything she'll do such as the simple act of breathing would be twisted into a crime against humanity. It's not grounded in reason, it's just mob mentality.
