Kokone debuted successfully, life’s good. So I’m thinking of incorporating Kokone into our lore in /vtwbg/ and here’s what I have:
>Remland
A land of forested hills in the inland named after the Remlins, its inhabitants. The terrain results in a higher level of magical fog concentrated in the valley that leads to a dreamy, almost magical landscape. People here live in either wooden houses or earth houses (think Hobbit houses) and herd/hunt reindeer for food
>Remlin
People living in Remland who traditionally worship Kokone as their goddess. Culturally quite similar to the Plakyries but they’re humans instead of humans with possum bits. It’s highly implied that the two people came from a distant land (/vtwbg/-specific lore) and made landfall here centuries ago, but went their separate ways on differences like whether to become possum people or not. The ancestors of the Remlins eventually left the coast and arrived at Remland to settle down. Their religion’s heavily tied to entering dream-like trances for inspiration using a special herb
The name Remlin’s likely originated from the word hreinn, which means either reindeer or pure/clean. How the n became m is a bit of a mystery but is probably a result of contraction of some word starting with m(-l/r), with likely candidates such as mark (forest/borderland), masurr (maple or a similar tree… I wonder which side of the border Kokone lives in), morr (moor/marsh), malmr (metal), or mim (see Mimir’s wiki article for possible meanings)
I made /vnug/’s language Korean-related so I don’t know if they should speak it or keep speaking Old Norse that they brought with them from back home
>Kokone church
She doesn’t have much of a fan culture just yet so I might hold off on that beyond what her character lore offers. I would say it probably involves a lot of dreams and altered states of consciousness, so things like dreamwalkers and psychonautics would be in line with her theme. I quite like the dreamcatcher aesthetics some of her bits have too
