You the your case is that you perhaps grew up with parents that left you alone too much, or didn't push you to make friends and go out; perhaps your parents are also shut-ins and they got lucky to find each other.

It's not normal to feel the way you do but it's understandable not knowing where to *find* love. Love is something you don't seek out intentionally it is something that will come to you when you least expect it. However it is more likely to happen if you're outgoing or at least have no trouble leaving the house.

You don't have to meet a new person and expect to fall in love with them or worse expect them to fall for you; you should never project your own desires into others. Love and relationships need emotional and mental maturity, the ability to separate friendships from lifelong romantic commitment and most importantly being able to value yourself and understand what kind of person is good for you not because you're lonely but because they WANT to care for you they want to live with you they respect you they love you.

You can only learn through trial and error no matter how much you prepare yourself, but at least if you're wary of what to avoid you would be out of trouble and much safer.
