A server wide discord wipe is healthy to boost out lurkers. Let the leeches do their work where they are needed. Sometimes a event like that can seem malicious but is actually theraputic. Think of it as a way of testing to see who is still fully engaged in that community, and who already moved on to better things.
ARK does this. Sometimes the server kicks everyone out. Most people are AFK so most times only about 2/3 of the server back in after a disconnect.
