Given how much Niji's been overworking them, if they want to fuck off and make them sweat a little, I don't blame them. Sucks that fans are caught in the crossfire, but... I'm all for rebelling against the corporate overlords. Nijisanji isn't the same company it was when Luxiem debuted, they've since started publicly trading on the Japanese stock market. They're beholding to shareholders now, and this explains why they're pushing everyone so much, demanding more idol-y content, trying to make people with no interest in music produce... and why so many noteworthy people are starting to trickle away, too. But the thing is, they might be able to lord over their JP talent due to the physical proximity, but you really cannot expect the same from an international team as far-flung as EN. Some of the livers spend literally more than 24 hours in the air traveling to and from Japan every time Nijisanji wants something. Sure, it's part of their job, but my counterpoint is that the entire point of a virtual entertainer is that they can "be" anywhere you want without having to actually travel, so demanding they uproot everything to hopcon multiple times in a year is pretty excessive. This is doubly so for Japan, specifically, because there is a laundry list of medications you literally cannot enter Japan with (even with a prescription) and that means people who go have to either swap to an alternative, if one exists, or they have to go off their meds to enter the country. It's a deeply unfavorable situation to be in for everyone involved.

If people want to take some time off- some actual legitimate time off where they're not being asked to work in the background -- I think they deserve it. Having to say they're "busy" and stuff is just doublespeak to avoid the corporate overlords from getting pissy. It's true Nijisanji made these streamers into who they are, but Nijisanji is also nothing without the people behind those models. If they keep working them like this, they're going to burn out their entire workforce. Let 'em take some time away... frustrating as it is, we know they'll come back actually rested and happy for once, and that's worth all the minor irritation in the world -- at least to me.
