We already know where the "objective" continental divide is, and that is covered by the tectonics. The "continental divide" is purely subjective, and I don't mind the Holo nations considering to be Holocontinent (since Holonations are there) and Niji nations considering it to be Nijineutral due to historical reasons. As for the "strait" being on two continents, that's again, not particularly unusual if you consider the Bosphorus or New Guinea sometimes being slashed in two by Oceania/Asia division.
My point is, there is no reason to restrict writers since it's not just a non-issue, but also a potential conflict in-universe. There isn't a reason why everyone would have to decide on a precise subjective continental split.

I support Neural being made its own continent. But it's kind of the "North/South America" vs. "Americas" or "Europe/Asia" vs. "Eurasia" disputes. We could have a name for both continents at once /and/ separated.
