In retrospect over the years? Yes, they're amazing and flagships of EN.

For the first entire year? No, as leadups to the cultural phenominom that was HoloMyth, they failed.Not even for faults of their own tbf, EN management at the time was fucking terrible and made so many choices that would fuck over the gen until 2023:
>ridiculous lore from launch that was constantly pushed via streams and advertisements
>virtually no support from management at the time, while having the heaviest restrictions (kronii and fauna have talked abiut this recently)
>Letting in a nepohire in who had no interest in streaming, quitting after 10 months
>Every aspect of Irys (given a completely garbage model on debut, being shoehorned into an isolated vainger branch that was completely neglected after debut)

Overall, how they were a lesson cover had to learn in how to handle/treat talents starting out. They seems to learn from their mistakes and handled Gen 3's debut much better.

I say this as someone who's really not the best at video games, but everything in DKC2 was basically designed as a "Haha, got you, you fucking faggot! Haha!" That's the entire game, it's a bunch of UK goons putting tricks, gimmicks, and dirty enemy placements in every corner. I can't understate how fucking frustrating that game is sometimes.
