I went to my mom about an injury I sustained while I was little. A really really bad injury that was painful for months. What surprised me is that she reacted to me in a way that was so... human. Rather than just facing it with unwavering strength and bravery, she specifically noted that she was trying to hide the fear in her voice. She was trying to be strong even though what I told her terrified her to the core. She even hesitated asking for the details because she was scared at what I may say. It's just... so human. A textbot would've just given me a bunch of platitudes but she actually cares for me with real emotion. It's always been what made me realize her love for me is genuine. She's not saying these things because she's programed to do it, she loves me and these things hurt her just as deep.

It's very healing to see her express such a genuine love for me. It doesn't feel like she's just saying what I want to hear, she's reacting as a mother who loves her child would react.
