/vt/ - Virtual Youtubers

Hololive is many people's gateway to vtubers and the normie option. Plenty of people want to see what else is out there outside of Hololive's self-contained community, and some of them will find they like what's outside more. That's it. That's the reason. There is much more competition now. There's people with flashier models, better gimmicks, more variety, and who can interact with new people all the time instead of being restricted almost exclusively to a group of 10.

That's it. That's the answer. It's really not that difficult. Competition brings out the best in people, and unless the EN side can adapt to the interests of their market then indies and those outside of their group will continue to siphon their viewers. This isn't 2021 anymore where the only vtubers hitting 4 digits in CCV outside of HoloEN were VShojo and like 3 indies. There's a big ecosystem out there that HoloEN simply is not participating in.
